2014 Reading Across Rhode Island

Reading Across Rhode Island 2014: Kick-off Event   Reading Across Rhode Island, Rhode Island's One Book, One State community read program, is kicking off its 12th year! The 2014 title will be Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan. On Sunday, January 26, Rhode Islanders are invited to attend the kick off event featuring a screening of the documentary, Google and the World Brain, followed by a discussion of the book. The presentation will take place on January 26 from 2pm - 4:30pm at the Providence Public Library. Tickets are $20 and include one paperback copy of the book (retail value $15.00). Light refreshments will be provided. Looking For a Good Book?

Today the Canadian newspaper, The Globe and Mail, issued its list of the 100 Best Books of 2013.  The books are broken down into multiple categories including fiction, non-fiction, young adult, etc.  What I love about this list is that the majority of the titles were not familiar to me.  How exciting!  Lots to explore.  Great way to find your next good book. Happy reading!
